Genette Harrison is a UK-trained actress, having completed a BA Hons Acting degree and undertaken a MA in Performance. She has trained at Blackpool Arts University and Edge Hill University.
Alongside her acting career she has also worked as a director and an acting lecturer at a UK university, before moving to the UAE to become a curriculum specialist and author for the Ministry of Education, specialising in Theatre. Genette started up her acting career in Dubai at the 48Hour Festival in 2019 where she won best actress for her role in Elpida’s World (Jacques Brown Director).
She then went on to perform for the Short n Sweet festival, in a play called ‘This is She’ which won best play runner up.
Throughout 2020 she has been lucky enough to perform in The Shape of Things, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, both at the Junction Theatre in Dubai. In 2021 she had a standout year, landing lead roles in Woman and Scarecrow (Theatre @ Mall of Emirates), Two (Theatre of Digital Art), and The Heart of the Matter (The Junction).
Recent notable film roles include Elementary Brilliance 2 and 3 (number 3 is currently in post-production) where she played a vital role to the narrative, a film called The Classic Hotel, and finally a collaborating project with NOMAD Dubai, called Reprisal.
Genette is currently a lead tutor for fundamentals year at Sharjah Performing Arts Academy, the only English Language Conservatoire of its kind in the middle east, where she is proud to be developing the local talent, and helping the next generation enter the professional acting world in the UAE!
She is looking for all kinds of acting work, and is open to networking with many professionals in the industry.
